The EXIF camera data carried inside many photo files
Phones and cameras can store EXIF fields alongside the visible pixels. Depending on the device and its settings, those fields may identify GPS coordinates, camera model, capture date, exposure settings or editing software. The information travels with the original file unless an application removes it. Other metadata systems can also exist, so EXIF removal should not be described as a universal forensic scrub.

Frequently asked questions
Does this remove GPS location data?
The tool removes detected EXIF GPS fields from the downloaded copy. Check the result before relying on it, because location or identifying information might also appear visibly in the image, filename or another metadata container.
Will removing metadata reduce photo quality?
Removing metadata alone does not require changing visible pixels. The export process and format implementation determine whether image bytes are copied or re-encoded, however, so compare an important result and retain the original.
What if no metadata is found?
Screenshots and images processed by messaging or social platforms often contain no EXIF. The tool reports when it does not detect supported fields; that is not proof that every possible metadata type is absent.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
