EXIF records details about a photo and its capture
A phone or camera may save EXIF fields alongside the visible image. Depending on its settings, the file can identify a device model, capture date, GPS coordinates, aperture, shutter speed or ISO. These fields are not visible in the picture itself, and they may be missing, altered or removed by editing and sharing software. Treat them as file metadata, not unquestionable proof of when or where a photograph was made.

Frequently asked questions
Why does this photo show no metadata?
Messaging, social and editing applications often strip EXIF when they create a new copy. Some cameras also omit fields, and this viewer does not claim to expose every possible metadata container.
Can I remove the metadata this tool shows?
Yes. The EXIF Remover can create a copy without the supported fields it detects. Review the output because other metadata or visible identifying information may remain.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. JavaScript reads supported fields locally in your browser.
Does this work with PNG or WEBP files?
EXIF is common in JPEG, but modern PNG and WEBP files can also carry metadata. This viewer focuses on the encodings it supports, so a blank result is not a universal guarantee that the file contains none.
