PDF cropping changes what the page displays
Cropping moves each page’s visible boundary inward by the millimeter values you provide. It does not redraw or securely delete the hidden content. Text outside the new crop box may remain recoverable in the PDF, so this tool is suitable for presentation and printing adjustments, not for removing confidential information.
When adjusting the page boundary helps
- Hide wide or uneven edges around scanned pages
- Adjust the visible PDF page area for a printing layout
- Remove excess white space from the displayed page
- Hide a fixed header or footer band when secure removal is not required
Frequently asked questions
Does cropping delete any content permanently?
No. Cropping changes the visible page box; it does not securely erase content outside that boundary. Hidden material may remain extractable, and cropping must never be used as redaction. Existing text generally stays selectable because the page is not rasterized.
Can I crop different amounts from each side?
Yes. Set separate values for the top, bottom, left and right. Leave a side at 0 when its boundary should remain unchanged.
What if my PDF has pages of different sizes?
The same measurements apply to every page. Pages with different dimensions can therefore produce different-looking margins. If the entered crop is too large for any page, reduce the values and try again.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. JavaScript changes the page boxes and exports the PDF in your browser.
