AI Writing Checker

Inspect explainable style patterns in a draft without pretending to determine who or what wrote it.

What this actually is: This tool flags stylistic patterns sometimes associated with generic or AI-generated writing: overused stock phrases, repetitive sentence openers, unusually uniform sentence length, and heavy em-dash use. Human writers use these patterns constantly, and genuinely AI-written text can avoid every one of them. This is a style-awareness signal, not an AI detector and not a verdict: treat flagged patterns as things worth a second look, not proof of anything.

A transparent style check, not an authorship verdict

Paste a draft to check four defined signals: phrases from a curated list, consecutive sentences beginning with the same word, unusually uniform sentence length and frequent em dashes. Matches are highlighted and counted separately rather than collapsed into an โ€œAI score.โ€ These heuristics can reveal repetitive prose, but they do not measure originality, factual quality or authorship.

Use flags as editing prompts, not automatic corrections

  • Notice generic phrases while revising your own draft
  • Find repeated openings that flatten the rhythm
  • See whether a small set of stock expressions dominates the text
  • Review sentence-length variation with human judgment

Frequently asked questions

Can this tell me if text was written by AI?
No. Human and AI-generated writing can both contain or avoid every measured pattern. The result only reports features in the pasted text and cannot establish authorship.
Why isn't there an overall "AI score" or percentage?
Combining unrelated style signals into a percentage would imply an unsupported probability of AI authorship. Separate counts show what the rules actually detected and let the writer decide whether any match deserves editing.
What if my writing naturally has some of these patterns?
That is normal. A highlight reports the presence of a pattern, not an error. Context, genre, quotation, accessibility and personal voice can make repetition entirely appropriate.
Is my text uploaded to a server?
No. JavaScript analyzes the pasted text locally in your browser.
