Add a border that travels with the image
The tool adds a solid band of color around the image. You control its thickness and can round the new outer corners. Because the border becomes part of the exported file, it remains visible when you print, upload or share the image.
Useful reasons to add a border
- Separate a photo from a page or social feed with a clean edge
- Prepare images for a printed collage or photo album
- Apply one consistent border across a set of images
- Add brand-colored space around a product photograph
Frequently asked questions
Does the border change the image's original dimensions?
Yes. The border adds pixels outside the image, so the final width and height increase by twice the selected border thickness.
Can I make the border transparent?
The border uses a solid color. If you need transparent outer corners instead, use the Round Image Corners tool.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. JavaScript processes the image locally in your browser, and the file remains on your device.
What formats does this support?
The tool accepts JPG, PNG, WEBP and other image formats that your browser can decode. Format support may vary by browser.
