Rotation and flipping solve different orientation problems
Rotation turns the full image around its center in 90° steps. A flip mirrors it across a horizontal or vertical axis. Use rotation to correct a sideways scan or photograph; use a flip when the layout calls for a reflected version. Neither action crops the frame.
Useful orientation fixes
- Correct a phone or camera photograph that opens sideways or upside down
- Create a mirrored copy for a layout or printing workflow
- Restore the intended orientation of a scanned page
- Check and correct orientation before using the image elsewhere
Frequently asked questions
Does rotating reduce image quality?
A 90°, 180° or 270° turn does not require the pixel interpolation used for an arbitrary-angle rotation. Exporting can still re-encode the file or remove metadata, depending on the source and output format. Keep the original when those details matter.
Can I combine a rotation with a flip?
Yes. Rotations and flips build on the current preview, so you can combine them before downloading the final orientation.
Can I undo a rotation?
Choose “Reset” to restore the original orientation and begin again.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. JavaScript performs the rotation, flip and export in your browser.
