What does resizing an image mean?

Resizing changes the pixel dimensions of an image โ€” its width and height โ€” either scaling it down to a smaller size or up to a larger one. It's different from cropping: resizing keeps the entire image visible, just at a different scale, while cropping removes parts of it.

When should you use this tool?

Why use Orisod for this?

This tool lets you resize by entering exact pixel values, with an option to lock the aspect ratio so your image doesn't look stretched or squished. Everything happens locally in your browser โ€” your image is never uploaded to a server.

Frequently asked questions

Will resizing distort my image?
Only if you change width and height independently without keeping the aspect ratio. Keep "Keep aspect ratio" checked to avoid stretching.
Can I make an image larger without losing quality?
You can enlarge an image, but since no new detail is created, very large increases may look softer or blurrier than the original.
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No, resizing happens locally in your browser using the Canvas API โ€” the file never leaves your device.
What formats does this support?
JPG, PNG, WEBP and most other common image formats supported by your browser.
